What is Mahjong?
Spelled a variety of ways, Mahjong is a 4-player game created in China a couple of hundred years ago & has since spread across the globe, inheriting a variety of styles. Unlike bridge, however, it is not a “partner” game – each person plays on their own.

The game uses skill, intelligence, calculation, strategy, fun and, like other gambling games, a certain amount of luck.

The closest Western game to Mahjong is perhaps the card game Gin Rummy. Both Majiang and Gin Rummy involve selecting or discarding tiles or cards to form groups or sets of similar suits.

Check out the rules listed on this site.
Need to learn how to play or just a refresher? Got any specific questions on tips, strategies, etc., drop us a line!

As always, may the tiles be with you, and I look forward to tossing tiles with you!
